The ferry “Ciudad de Mahón” replaces the temporary stop of the ferry “Passió per Formentera” on the Ceuta line
As has happened on other occasions, Baleària has positioned the ferry “Ciudad de Mahón” on the Algeciras-Ceuta line, temporarily replacing the stop of the ferry “Passió per Formentera”, which is undergoing maintenance work at the Algeciras port.
Additionally, it coincides that Baleària has also stopped the catamaran “Volcán de Teno” for a comprehensive interior renovation that starts today in Cernaval, although it has been replaced by the catamaran “Cecilia Payne” and the managers of the bondholders of the Armas Trasmediterránea Group —with which Baleària has no relationship in its decisions— have also stopped the catamaran “Villa de Agaete”, which is currently docked in Gibdock. There are rumors about this vessel regarding a possible sale, if it is not already sold.
The incorporation of the ferry “Ciudad de Mahón” —formerly “Volcán de Tijarafe” from Naviera Armas— easily meets the demand for the Ceuta line and, contrary to what has been circulated on Ceuta social media, Baleària has not changed prices, which remain the same since the signing of the current contract.
