Wallenius SOL Receives New ConRo Ship “Botnia Enabler”
Wallenius SOL has received the new ship “Botnia Enabler” (IMO 9884679) in China, the first multi-fuel ConRo vessel with the highest classification for navigation in ice. Flagged in Sweden, it is the first of two ships measuring 242 m in length and 35.2 m in width, and it will be used for navigation in the Gulf of Bothnia, between Sweden and Finland.
With a gross tonnage of 59,761 tons, it stands out for its propulsion system's ability to consume LNG, liquefied biogas (LBG), and synthetic diesel oil.
In its ConRo ship concept, it has the capacity for 1,000 TEUs and 5,800 linear meters of roll-on/roll-off cargo, which is why it is expected to play an important role in the region's transport capacity.
