USS Gerald R. Ford Aircraft Carrier Arrives in Norway
The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), the largest aircraft carrier in the world, has docked today for the first time in the Oslo fjord, demonstrating NATO's strength at a time of great tension between Europe and Russia due to the war in Ukraine.
This is the first time this gigantic nuclear-powered ship of the U.S. Navy visits Norway, and its arrival has been followed with special interest.
As expected, the Russian embassy in Oslo has expressed its displeasure on social media regarding the presence of the U.S. aircraft carrier in Norwegian waters.
In the coming days, joint training exercises will be conducted with the Norwegian Armed Forces north of the Arctic Circle, in an unprecedented operation in the relationship between the U.S. and the Scandinavian country, which is being closely monitored by political and military analysts.
