Trasmediterránea Renews Cádiz-Canary Islands Contract
As previously reported by puentedemando.com, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, through the General Directorate of Merchant Marine, has awarded the contract for the management of the public interest maritime line between the Peninsula and the Canary Islands to Trasmediterránea.
The contract, worth 4.2 million euros, establishes a frequency of one weekly rotation, every Tuesday, on a round trip itinerary from Cádiz to the ports of Arrecife (Lanzarote), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Tenerife), and Santa Cruz de La Palma (La Palma).
The ro-pax vessel “Ciudad de Valencia” will be responsible for providing the service.
The contract will be signed in June and has a duration of two years, extendable for two more years.
The award to this shipping company was made because it offered the best value for money for the interests of the Administration, states the MITMA.
