The cargo transported by Trasmediterránea in the first nine months of 2015 has increased by 3.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, the company reports. The Spanish shipping company's own and chartered fleet transported 4,337,125 linear meters of rolling cargo and vehicles under freight, compared to 4,195,403 linear meters in the same period of 2014.
There is also a 3.2% increase in the number of passengers, totaling just over two million (2,000,960), while vehicles under luggage totaled 449,573, an increase of 1.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. EBITDA has experienced a 29.3% increase, reaching 38 million euros, due to increased activity and lower costs, mainly due to fuel costs and the containment policy implemented by the new management team of Trasmediterránea.
