Trasmapi Enters Competition on the Alcudia-Ciutadella Route
The catamaran “Fairweather,” one of the two “Alaskas” acquired by Trasmapi, will cover this summer the route between Alcudia and Ciutadella, meaning Balearia will face competition and the lucrative summer high-speed pie will need to be shared. It is understandable that this project from the Ibizan shipping company will be more successful than that of FRS, among other reasons, because Trasmapi's managers know their territory well.
The message from Rafael Cardona, CEO of Trasmapi, regarding this seems clear: “We are excited to bring our values and our vision of maritime transport to this new route in the Balearics, between two communities we know well. We are truly committed to this new operation, as part of our strategic expansion plan for this season.”
The aforementioned catamaran, which is docked at the port of Sant Antoni (Ibiza), will soon set sail for its new destination. There will be a presentation event and brand launch, which will be a vertical dependent on Trasmapi.
“Very soon, Trasmapi will add a new alternative proposal to the mobility and tourism needs between both islands,” the company informs. This boutique approach to their business proposal is complemented by the inherent values that, for over sixty years, have been an indispensable part of the Insotel Group, which is 100% Balearic capital, and to whose maritime division (IMG—Insotel Marine Group) Trasmapi belongs.
Marcos Marí, CEO of Trasmapi, states that “in the hotel sector, we have a complete offer of hotels on the four islands, and now the main aspiration of our shipping division is to open new options for maritime connections that assist in the inter-island mobility needs for residents and visitors.”
