Tourist Double in Vigo
This summer is proving to be a good one at the port of Vigo in terms of tourist arrivals. In fact, it is a destination that is active all year round, so the presence of tourist cruises is a constant. A reliable port and an attractive region. Yesterday, two ships coincided. The first to arrive was the ship “Thomson Spirit” – a familiar face – and mid-morning saw the arrival of the “Voyager,” which is less frequent in these latitudes.
The “Thomson Spirit” docked early in a scheduled stop, coming from Gibraltar on its way to Porto with an expedition of 1,292 passengers and 389 crew members. The tourists – reports Alfredo Campos Brandón, the author of the accompanying photos – departed on several buses to visit Santiago de Compostela and Baiona la Real, while other groups went to the beaches and parks of Castrelos and the Castro. At 7 PM, it continued its journey.
The “Voyager” – built in Spain – arrived from St. Peter Port, also en route to Porto. It arrived just before noon and set sail at 9 PM. On board, there were 327 passengers and 210 crew members. The excursion to Santiago de Compostela is a must on any stop, and other groups visited the old town of Vigo and its surroundings. The handling of both ships was managed by the delegation of Pérez y Cía.
