Italian Cable Ship "Teliri" Completes Connection of New Submarine Fiber Optic Branch in Fuerteventura
Canalink has successfully completed the installation of a new submarine fiber optic branch that will connect Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote.
The cabling will reach the area of Matas Blancas and will improve the digital connectivity of Fuerteventura, as well as provide greater security and continuity of communications.
To carry out this task, the company deployed the cable ship "Teliri" (IMO 9105889), registered in Italy, which laid the infrastructure from Ojos de Garza beach in Gran Canaria to the coast of Fuerteventura, off Matas Blancas.
To connect the new branch with the main cable of the RING project, designed to create a new submarine connection between the eastern Canary Islands, technicians installed a submarine branching unit.
