The offshore vessel “Solitaire” is in Gijón ready to receive 13,122 tons of pipes destined for the Gulf of Mexico
The subsea pipe-laying vessel “Solitaire” (IMO 7129049), flagged in Malta, is anchored off the coast of Gijón to carry out the direct transshipment of 13,122 tons of pipes, which are destined for the Gulf of Mexico.
The vessel is expected to dock at the North Quay of the El Musel port in Gijón on August 14, to carry out these maneuvers and also to conduct dynamic positioning tests, maintenance work, provisioning, and crew change.
The vessel, operated by the Dutch company Allseas, will receive the cargo from Greece, arriving aboard the merchant vessels “Wilco Cadiz” (IMO 9192612) and “FWN Space” (IMO 9735232), which are already in the area.
The transshipment will take place in the port without going ashore, in an operation carried out by Algeposa Asturias that will last approximately ten days.
The pipes will be loaded onto the vessel “Solitaire” with destination to the Gulf of Mexico, where they will be used for a deepwater pipeline project.
