Santander Port Completes Expansion of Car Silo to 9,328 Vehicles
The Santander Port has completed the second phase of the expansion works of its vertical car silo, which is now in service. With this new area, the facility reaches 207,200 square meters and has a capacity for 9,328 vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Port Authority of Santander continues to work on the third and final phase of the project, which is expected to be completed before the end of summer.
Once all the works are completed, the facility will have 322,000 square meters of surface area and a capacity for 14,600 vehicles, significantly increasing the car storage capacity of the port.
The silo is located near the docks and next to the railway siding, facilitating the movement of vehicles and strengthening the connection between maritime and rail transport. The project has involved an investment of nearly 70 million euros.
