Sailing the Orinoco Aboard the "J.J. Sister" (1991)
In 1991, the fifth voyage of “Aventura 92” took place aboard the ferry “J.J.Sister”. It was the longest of all, lasting 42 days. It began on September 16 in Cádiz and made stops in Huelva, Santo Domingo, Los Roques, La Guaira, Bocas del Orinoco, Ciudad Guayana, Santana, Rio de Janeiro, Santarem, Manaus, Anaul, Tapajos, Rio de Janeiro (for the second time), Belem, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and arrived back in Cádiz on October 27.
In the accompanying photo, we see the three radioelectronic officers of that expedition: José Miguel Mandillo Roig, Joaquín Bermúdez Lestón, and Antonio García Merino. Between them is the writer Alfonso Ussía, and to the left is Alejandro Sánchez, responsible for Onboard Services of Compañía Trasmediterránea. The ship was commanded by Captain Salvador Ventura Moreno, one of the legendary figures of his time, while the chief engineer was Fidel Esparza Valenciano.
