Roberto Hernández, the Ship Illustrator, Exhibits in Santander
Until September 6, the exhibition of watercolors on maritime, shipping, and port history by Roberto Hernández, known as “the ship illustrator,” will remain open at the Maritime Museum of Cantabria in Santander. The author has stood out for years in the landscape of painters of naval themes, with an exceptional mastery of watercolor, which is also evident in several publications in which he has participated or sponsored, such as the one dedicated to the ships of Marítima del Norte by Manuel Rodríguez Aguilar, among others.
This exhibition will have replicas in other Spanish port cities in the coming months. The next will be Barcelona Maritime in September 2020; followed by Cádiz Maritime in September 2021 and Canarias Maritime in December 2021 and January 2022, being, in this case, itinerant exhibitions between Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
In some of them, it will be displayed in two 40-foot containers adapted for the project and will be installed in areas designated by the port authorities, so that people can access them without having to enter restricted areas.
