Rauma Shipyard to Build Ferry for Mols Linien
The Finnish shipyard Rauma Marine Constructions Oy (RMC) and the Danish company Mols Linien have signed a contract for the construction of a ro-pax vessel worth 68 million euros, which will be delivered in September 2018. The keel laying is scheduled to take place next spring, the shipyard reports.
The injection of national capital boosts the factory's activity. Three groups of investors from the Nordic country have contributed 19 million euros and have become part of the share capital of Rauma Marine Constructions Oy (RMC). The recognized “know-how” of the company is one of its main assets and clearly identifies Finland's technological position as a specialized shipbuilder internationally, in addition to the credibility in potential, knowledge, and ability to operate in a flexible market.
