Prophet in His Land
Antonio Padrón Santiago, maritime ambassador of the IMO and maritime captain of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will receive the Facendo Historia 2016 (Making History 2016) award in Marín (Pontevedra), his hometown, along with other personalities. The awards, promoted by the Portocelo Opinion Club Association, have the support of the local City Council.
Its activities complement the goal of showing affection and recognition, with the help of other groups and associations, to the people of Marín who have been making history - or have made it through the ages - by promoting and disseminating their land, linking the name of Marín to their personal, professional, business, intellectual, sports, cultural, and even political trajectories; as well as rewarding those groups, companies, or public or private entities that are committed and involved in the social and economic development of Marín.
The Facendo Historia awards began in 2012 to commemorate the IX Centenary of Marín in History, celebrated at the Osera monastery, so this occasion marks the fifth edition.
