The Port of Tarragona Adds Two New Vessels to Strengthen Mooring Operations
The Port of Tarragona has added two new vessels to its port service fleet. These are the vessels "Algars" and "Capçanes," acquired by the company Boteros Amarradores de Tarragona, responsible for mooring operations at the port.
The investment made amounts to 1.3 million euros and is part of the fleet renewal plan that the company initiated in 2023. The new boats have been designed to enhance mooring maneuvers and improve safety in port operations.
Both vessels measure 10.5 meters in length and are built with a steel hull, a feature that increases their durability and safety.
Additionally, they are equipped with 285 horsepower engines, allowing them to reach speeds of up to 9 knots and perform maneuvers in tight spaces, as well as assist in potential rescue operations within the port area.
