The Port of Tarragona Completes a Complex Loading Operation of Two 30-Ton Silos on the Ship "MV Maestro"
The Port of Tarragona has successfully completed a complex operation to load two large industrial silos bound for Hamburg aboard the ship "MV Maestro" (IMO 9214006). The work was carried out at the Euroports Tarragona terminal, located at the Castilla Dock.
The two units, manufactured in Tarragona, measure 26 meters long, 5 meters in diameter, and weigh over 30 tons each. Their transport to Germany is part of a European industrial project.
The operation began with the reception of the silos at the terminal. To move these pieces, the Euroports team used two reach stackers working together due to the dimensions and weight of the load.
Subsequently, the silos were transported to the dock using special self-propelled vehicles, and once there, lifting equipment was used to place the structures into the hold of the ship "MV Maestro", flagged in Antigua & Barbuda.
The loading was completed with the necessary welding and securing work to ensure the silos during navigation. The entire operation was carried out in a single day.
