"Periscope" Presented at the Naval Museum of Cartagena
This Thursday, November 3rd, at the Submarine Peral Room of the Naval Museum of Cartagena, an interesting comic titled "Periscope" was presented, featuring 80 pages of excellently drawn panels by Oski Yáñez, with a script by Emilio Barcarce, both Argentinians.
The comic includes a series of real stories with a common denominator, "Submarines that sank forever".
As it is often said, "not all who are here are counted, but all who are counted are here." For example, it recounts the story of the “Sorcouf,” the largest French submarine of WWII, the U-333, one of the many legendary U-boats from the German wolf packs, the Italian “Macalle,” five Japanese mini-subs that succumbed during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the more recent case of the ARA “San Juan,” among others.
The comic, which was presented in the presence of various authorities including the admiral chief of ARCART, will soon be available in several South American countries, where it is expected to receive the excellent reception it deserves. The prologue of the work is by Diego Quevedo, who also presented it to the public, accompanied by José Antonio Gómez, a professor at the University of Murcia and a specialist in this type of publication.
