Passenger and Vehicle Inspection at the Port of La Palma Heading to Cádiz
The Provincial Port Authority activated a new control for passengers and vehicles last Friday at the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma, in compliance with the International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities (ISPS). For this reason, around twenty vehicles were randomly inspected prior to boarding the ship “Albayzin,” with a final destination in Cádiz.
The passenger control was carried out using the security arch and scanner located in the new restricted area of the maritime station at the La Palma port, while the vehicle inspection took place in the cargo area of the multipurpose dock.
Both tasks were conducted by the Port Police and the Civil Guard, who already perform their daily checks during the last disembarkation of the day for inter-island traffic ships and, every Friday, precisely upon the arrival of the Trasmediterránea ship.
