Oneport Leaves the Las Palmas Ports Foundation Amid Dissolution Process
The business association Oneport Canarias, which groups companies linked to the port activity of Las Palmas, has announced its withdrawal as a member of the Las Palmas Ports Foundation, at a time when the entity is facing a dissolution process following the conclusions of an audit conducted by Puertos del Estado.
The decision was approved by the board of directors of Oneport at the end of June and was formalized before the extraordinary Board and Assembly meeting of the Foundation, where the procedures for its liquidation were initiated.
Oneport's departure coincides with the crisis within the Foundation after an internal audit by Puertos del Estado detected deficiencies in its management, particularly related to the processing of minor contracts during the last fiscal year.
These circumstances led to the resignation of the Foundation's manager, Betsabé Morales, whose appointment had also been subject to scrutiny by oversight bodies.
The Foundation's board has commissioned a legal report to define the future of the entity, which may involve its liquidation or a possible transformation into a private organization.
As this process unfolds, the Foundation will gradually terminate the minor contracts that sustained its activity and plans to appoint a provisional technical management to oversee the transition.
Additionally, the documentation and results of the audit will be sent to the Territorial General Intervention, which will analyze the files and determine whether new actions should be taken.
