Onda Rossa Interested in the Sustainability of the Tenerife Circuit
The president of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Ricardo Melchior, received a visit from Riccardo Ferretti and Walter Sciacca, representatives of Onda Rossa, the concessionaire of the Tenerife Circuit. He recalled the complicated administrative developments over the last twenty years, fourteen as a direct participant and four under the direct management of his predecessor in the Cabildo, Adán Martín, culminating on August 29 with the laying of the first stone of the future circuit.
Due to the impossibility of attending the event, Ricardo Melchior, one of the promoters of the future high-displacement automotive infrastructure of the Island, thanked the representatives of Onda Rossa for their visit, which Ferretti and Sciacca took the opportunity to express their group's interest in promoting, installing, and using renewable energies at the circuit.
Melchior reiterated his full willingness and support for this aspect of the project's development, which, along with other nearby facilities such as the Reina Sofía airport and the port and industrial estate of Granadilla, will enhance the future circuit on an international level and maximize the use of the immediate environment.
In the coming days, they will visit the facilities of the Granadilla port, one of the logistical hubs to consider for the operation of the circuit. The Technological Institute and Renewable Energies, ITER, is also included in Onda Rossa's work visits.
The relaxed meeting allowed attendees to learn in detail about the procedures for the difficult approval of the first Territorial Action Project of the Canary Islands (PAT), which in turn enabled the process of expropriating land, approximately 20% of the land included in the concession, and the necessary declaration of general interest for the project.
