“Nils Holgersson” docks in Algeciras on its journey to Sweden
The largest ship in the history of the TT Line company, the new “Nils Holgersson” (IMO 9865685), flagged in Germany, made a technical stop at the port of Algeciras yesterday on its delivery journey from China via the Suez Canal and has set sail again towards the port of Trelleborg (Sweden).
It has dual propulsion, which will allow it to use liquefied natural gas when the prices of this type of fuel are no longer prohibitive.
As can be seen in the photos from our collaborator Juan G. Mata, it is a remarkable ship in its class: 56,138 GT and 8,000 DWT, with a hull length of 230 m and a beam of 31 m. It has capacity for 800 passengers in 239 cabins of different categories and a garage for 3,500 linear meters of rolling cargo, accommodating 200 units.
