“Nils Holgersson” on its way to Algeciras for delivery
In the early hours of tomorrow, the new German-flagged ferry “Nils Holgersson” (IMO 9865685) will arrive at the port of Algeciras for a technical stop, as it is on a delivery and positioning journey in the Baltic. It features dual propulsion, allowing it to use liquefied natural gas when the prices of this type of fuel are no longer prohibitive.
Built in China on behalf of TT Line, it is a remarkable vessel in its class: 56,138 GT and 8,000 DWT, with a hull measuring 230 m in length and 31 m in width. It has the capacity for 800 passengers in 239 cabins of various categories and a garage for 3,500 linear meters of rolling cargo, accommodating 200 units.
