The Navy Deploys the BAM P-42 "Rayo" to Strengthen Maritime Surveillance in Ceuta
The Navy has strengthened maritime surveillance in Ceuta with the deployment of the Maritime Action Ship (BAM) P-42 "Rayo", as part of the operation activated by the Government following the migration crisis in Ceuta.
The ship has joined the operation, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense, to support security efforts in the autonomous city. In addition to the naval deployment, the Ceuta General Command, with about 2,500 military personnel, is participating in the operation under the coordination of the Operations Command.
The main mission of the BAM P-42 "Rayo" will be to enhance surveillance in the waters near Ceuta and increase maritime control in an area that is particularly sensitive following the recent massive arrival of Moroccan citizens.
The ship measures 93.9 meters in length, displaces about 2,700 tons, and can exceed speeds of 20 knots.
