Navigasa abandons the Spanish flag and prefers Portugal
With the registration under the second registry of Portugal of the vessel “Finita R”, Naviera de Galicia (Navigasa) abandons the Spanish flag, fifty years after its business journey began. The flag change took place in the port of A Coruña, where the mentioned vessel set sail on May 30.
Two other vessels from the company, “Herbeira” and “Roibeira”, also fly the Portuguese flag.
Naviera de Galicia started its business journey in 1972. In addition to its own fleet, which until now has flown the Spanish flag, it has also operated third-party vessels of Spanish and foreign nationality.
As a ship operator, Navigasa focuses its activities on container transport, bulk cargo, and general cargo.
The incorporation of Navigasa into the Madeira registry constitutes another failure of the Spanish Merchant Navy.
