Naviera Armas to Launch Almería-Nador Route on June 13
If there are no changes, starting June 13, Naviera Armas will launch the Almería-Nador route, which will be served by the ferry “Volcán de Tamasite,” which is still scheduled on the inter-island routes of the Canary Islands. This vessel has no cabins and given the duration of the daytime journey, which is four hours, it does not need them. The price for a round-trip seat is 80 euros. This ship will alternate on the Motril-Nador route, where its nearly identical twin “Volcán de Timanfaya” is currently located.
It seems that the problem that was apparently delaying the authorization of this route by the Moroccan authorities has been resolved. Does this mean that the wreck of the ship “Assalama” will be removed or scrapped on-site? As our readers know, the former “Ciudad de La Laguna,” later “Volcán de Tenagua,” has been abandoned since 2008 at the entrance of the port of Tarfaya, and although at the time, Armas abandoned the ship in favor of the insurance, it remains there as a witness to an incident that could have had dire consequences.
