A Missile Destroys the Catamaran “HSV-2 Swift” in the Red Sea
Arab news agencies report on the attack suffered by the catamaran “HSV Swift” in the waters of the Red Sea, where it was hit by one or more anti-ship missiles launched by the Yemeni Army while sailing near the city of Mokha. The vessel has been destroyed, although the attackers claim to have sunk it. It was transporting supplies for U.S. forces and there were no casualties.
Other sources state that the vessel withstood the attack and is being towed to Eritrea. This ship, hull number 061 from the Incat shipyard (Australia), was in service with the U.S. Navy until July 2013. Since July 2015, it has been chartered to the UAE National Marine Dredging Co. Incat's managing director, Craig Clifford, said he was only aware of the news published online.
