Meyer Turku Delivers the Ship “Mein Schiff 5”
The Meyer Turku shipyard delivered the ship “Mein Schiff 5” to Tui Cruises yesterday, ten days ahead of the initially planned schedule. The pace of work and the experience of the Finnish shipyard in handling the third ship of the series have allowed for ample compliance with deadlines, and all sea trials have been conducted to the satisfaction of the technicians and representatives of the shipping company.
The construction of the ship “Mein Schiff 5” began in November 2014, shortly after the shipyard came under the ownership of Meyer and the State of Finland. In February 2015, when we visited the shipyard, the workforce was busy with plate cutting while work on its twin “Mein Schiff 4” was progressing at the outfitting dock. Tui Cruises expects the new ship to enter service next July.
