Messina Line Launches New Route Connecting Castellón and Barcelona with the Mediterranean in September
The Italian shipping company Messina Line will strengthen its service network in the western Mediterranean with a new regular line that will start operating in September. The new West Med Line will connect several ports in the Mediterranean and will call at the ports of Castellón and Barcelona.
The service will offer departures from Spain and France with an approximate frequency of ten days and aims to improve connections between the markets of Spain, France, Italy, Libya, and Algeria.
The first departure from Castellón is scheduled for September 6 and will be operated by the vessel "Libertas H." (IMO 9388388), flagged in Portugal. The second departure will be on September 17, where the vessel "Pacific Dalian" (IMO 9339090), flagged in Singapore, will be deployed.
The complete rotation will be Castellón, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Misurata, Tripoli, Misurata, Algiers, and back to Castellón. This way, the service will allow direct connections between Spanish ports and North Africa and also facilitate links through Genoa.
