Málaga Port Completes First Ship to Ship Liquefied Natural Gas Supply
The Málaga Port has completed its first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply at anchor through a Ship to Ship (STS) operation.
The operation took place last weekend in the bay of Málaga and allowed the supply of LNG to two container ships from the MSC shipping company. The ship "MSC Audrey" (IMO 9540065), flagged in Liberia, received about 5,500 cubic meters of LNG. On the other hand, the ship "MSC Virginia" (IMO 9908059), also flagged in the same country, received 7,000 cubic meters.
In total, both operations involved the supply of more than 12,500 cubic meters of LNG, demonstrating the Málaga port's capacity to offer this service. The two operations were carried out without incidents and complied with all established safety procedures.
