Leandro Melgar, Director of Port Operations at State Ports

Engineer Leandro Melgar Casillas (Bilbao, 1972) has been appointed Director of Port Operations at State Ports, in the new team of the entity's president, Ornella Chacón. Also noteworthy is the incorporation of Álvaro Sánchez, General Director; Álvaro Rodríguez, Director of Planning and Development; and Magec Montesdeoca, Corporate Director.

Leandro Melgar, a Civil Engineer specializing in Hydraulics and Energy from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, has left his professional mark at the Ports of Tenerife. From September 1998 to October 2003, he was the project manager for various works, particularly maritime, including the expansion of the port of Tazacorte.

From 2004 to 2017, he was the head of the Operations Area at the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, during which he managed port and commercial operations and services, industrial safety, protection, public domain, billing, insurance, and coordination between inspection administrations. Since 2017, he has been the Deputy Head of the Port Services Subdirectorate at State Ports.
