Launch of the submarine "Flore" with numbered frames
In 1964, the Marine Nationale Francaise launched the submarine "Flore" (S-645), the fifth unit out of a total of eleven that it came to possess from the beloved Daphne class. Here we see it on the day it had its first contact with water, and curiously, the ballast shows the situation of the frames, which, like all submariners who have passed through them know, were (like the ballast and many other things) numbered from stern to bow. I do not know the reason for this circumstance of painting the frames, but since it is a very unique photo (I do not know of any other similar), I want to share it in this section of Naval Culture.
