Launch of the Ship “Forza” in Palma de Mallorca
The ship “Forza” was launched yesterday at the port of Palma de Mallorca, assigned to the Valencia route. It has done so showcasing the colors of the company’s Centenary, which will be celebrated at the end of the year. It is a new vessel, similar to the ship “Tenacia”, which operates on the Barcelona-Palma route and of the same model as the ships “Audacia” and “Coraggio”, which also served Trasmediterránea, so they are already familiar with its operations. In June 2011, it was in the port of Barcelona for the first time, on a route originating in Genoa, and since December 2012 it has been chartered by the Greek company Anek Lines to cover the Venice-Igoumenitsa-Patras route.
The ship is a ro-pax model developed by the Apuania shipyard and built at the Marina di Carrara factory. In service since March 2010, it is owned by the Grimaldi group and has a capacity for 600 passengers, of which 268 are in cabins. Its garage stands out, with 2,623 linear meters for rolling cargo and vehicles. Weighing 24,950 gross tons, it measures 199.14 m in total length, 26.60 m in beam, and 6.40 m in draft. It is powered by two Wärtsila 12V46 engines, with a power of 32,184 horsepower over two shafts and variable pitch propellers, allowing it to maintain a speed of 24 knots. IMO Code 9458523.
