The World's Largest Ship Leaves Tenerife Earlier Than Expected
As we had previously mentioned in this same section, the vessel “Pioneering Spirit”, the largest in the world, which had been docked at the port of Granadilla, in the south of Tenerife, since October 2, has advanced its departure and at midday yesterday, November 12, it set sail again towards Kristiansand, Norway, due to a contract for the laying of a submarine pipeline.
It left without completing the list of tasks it had contracted with Tenerife Shipyards, the company that has carried out a series of repairs on board, despite the fact that the Tenerife shipyard has doubled its efforts, as the contractual deadline for completion was December 1. For this reason, shifts have been doubled and work has been done 24 hours a day to advance two weeks of work. The company that owns the “Pioneering Spirit” chose the option of the port of Granadilla due to its dimensions and draft.
