The training ship “Juan Sebastián de Elcano” will receive the XV “Cortes de la Real Isla de León” Award on September 24th in San Fernando (Cádiz), as announced by the Ministry of Defense.

The recognition highlights the ship's trajectory as a representative of Spain in the world and its role in representing the country during its international voyages and stops.

The award also comes in anticipation of the centenary of the training ship “Juan Sebastián de Elcano,” which will be celebrated in 2027.

The award is presented every September 24th at the Royal Theatre of Las Cortes in San Fernando and honors individuals and institutions that represent values such as coexistence, peace, and democracy.
