Alfonso Morales y Morales
We met Alfonso Morales y Morales at the beginning of our journalistic career, now forty years ago. From the start, we connected, and our friendship endured over time, characterized by the cordiality and respect we always had for each other. We greatly enjoyed his wisdom, his frequent articles, and above all, his kindness as a good person and his vast culture, a trait that was, in a way, intrinsic to his family heritage.
Today, this illustrious man from Tenerife (1931-2016) has left us forever. He held a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona, was a full member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a member of the Spanish Society of the History of Pharmacy and the Spanish Association of Pharmacists of Letters and Arts, and served as an executive of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Tenerife...
Alfonso Morales y Morales is a contemporary of other notable Canarians who contributed to their homeland with their thoughts and work; he leaves us an impressive, extensive, and rich legacy in the form of books and an endless array of articles published in the newspaper “El Día”. A passionate historian, he leaves us 22 published titles that are as many jewels of his good and diligent work.
May the distinguished friend and illustrious man from Tenerife rest in peace.
