Hidramar advises Cardona to stop the threats and work
The announcement by the president of the Port Authority of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Juan José Cardona, published in La Provincia, that he has asked the State Attorney's Office to evaluate the possibility of legal actions against Hidramar following the demonstration of its workers at the institution's headquarters and several Twitter messages from the company, has received a response in the following statement sent to the editor of puentedemando.com.
“From Hidramar, we want to clarify that the complaint for aggression filed by one of our workers was made personally due to a specific issue between individuals, completely unrelated to the company. She herself requested that this matter not become a media circus, and we respect her request.
On Hidramar's part, we will not comment on this situation and will wait for justice to resolve the case. We regret that the Port Authority is championing the issue of the aggression against our colleague and using it as a pressure measure to divert media attention from their management. Perhaps some questions are difficult to answer...
Who knows if any type of sanction has been imposed on the shipping agent that closed the dock for weeks without having the right to do so?
If all administrations agree that ship repair is a strategic sector, why did the Port Authority deny us the possibility of executing a private investment to build an additional 60 meters of docks worth €2.5M, only to later include it in the business plan, execute it from the Port Authority, and then not even commission the execution project?
Who benefits from our inability to extend our docking line to generate activity and employment?
If Mr. Cardona stopped threatening our company and dedicated himself to working to resolve these issues, hundreds of jobs could be generated that our society desperately needs.”
