Launch of the Dock Ship “GPO Emerald” in Las Palmas

It is common to see heavy cargo ships carrying wind turbines and oil platforms at the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, such as the dock ship “GPO Emerald” (IMO 9760457), which has made a technical stop on its way to Kirkenes (Norway) and is transporting the Chinese platform “Nan Hai Ba Hao,” owned by COSL.

This is a newly launched ship, built at the CSBC shipyard in Taiwan and registered under the Marshall Islands flag. Weighing 63,581 tons deadweight, it measures 225 m in length and 48 m in width, with a cargo deck of 183 m. It is the last of a group of four ships contracted by the GPO Heavylift group.
