GNV Positions the Italian Ferry “GNV Spirit” in Valencia
The Italian-flagged ferry “GNV Spirit” (IMO 9198927) is docked at the port of Valencia, having arrived this morning from Civitavecchia, to join the services of the Italian shipping company in the Balearics. From Monday to Saturday, it will operate on the Barcelona-Palma route, and on Sundays it will run Valencia-Palma.
As previously reported by puentedemando.com, this vessel, formerly known as “Cap Finistere,” has been acquired from Brittany Ferries. Built in Germany and in service since 2001 – it is therefore 21 years old – it aims to strengthen GNV's services in the Balearics during a summer season that is expected to be intense.
Although GNV has not achieved the expected success due to a series of errors and breakdowns, it is known for its policy of lowering prices and launching aggressive campaigns, which should benefit it especially during times of high demand for passenger traffic. And, as we have already mentioned, it has the financial muscle to allow for certain liberties.
