German Transport Professionals Learn About Trasmediterránea Operations
The Federation of Transporters of Germany organized a visit today to the facilities of Trasmediterránea in Palma de Mallorca, as part of its knowledge exchange program. Specifically, twelve German entrepreneurs from the sector witnessed the loading operations of the vessel Tenacia, and afterwards enjoyed a breakfast on board where they could exchange experiences with the company's loading managers.
Trasmediterránea is the shipping company of reference for the German Transport Federation in the Balearics. Most of the associated companies have regular cargo with the archipelago and therefore showed great interest in the visit.
These twelve transport companies, most with a fleet of between 25 and 45 trucks, are engaged in the transport of various goods such as vehicles, refrigerated items, or shipping containers, among others. The German company Rolf Benzinger acted as host since it has a delegation in Palma and was key in organizing this visit to the island.
This activity is part of a program for German professionals in the sector, who travel abroad every three years to gain new experiences: they visit logistics centers, hold meetings with chambers of commerce, transport federations, etc.
Trasmediterránea operates in the port of Palma every day with two ro-pax type vessels, one from Barcelona and another from Valencia. Additionally, this summer on the Valencia-Palma route, the cargo offer has increased by 30% compared to the same season last year. This involves the vessel Forza, with a garage of 2,200 linear meters of cargo. In addition, there are four weekly departures of the roll-on Superfast Levante, which connects Palma with the peninsula and has 2,000 linear meters of cargo.
