Fuel Spill from the Barge “Greenoil” in Barcelona

A “considerable spill” of fuel occurred last Thursday in the port of Barcelona from the barge “Greenoil,” according to maritime media, while it was loading for its next service. Since then, it has remained docked with its crew engaged in ongoing cleanup efforts. The Maritime Authority has opened the corresponding investigation.

Owned by Flota Suardíaz, the barge “Greenoil” (IMO 9391177) is a 4,700-ton deadweight vessel with a hull measuring 77 m in length and 18 m in width, in service since 2008.
