Formentera Lines Celebrates 25 Years of Presence in the Pitiusas
Formentera Lines, successor to Mediterránea Pitiusa, has celebrated 25 years of activity transporting passengers to Formentera. In this quarter-century of existence, the shipping company highlights its connection with the smaller of the Pitiusas islands, where it maintains its headquarters, being “the only cabotage company for passenger transport born and registered on the island of Formentera.”
The shipping company operates the maritime connection between Formentera and Ibiza, which it defines as a “neighborhood connection service for Formentera and the people of Formentera,” and emphasizes various projects linked to the Formentera community over the past years. Among them is the scholarship program for island students who travel to Ibiza to pursue studies not available in Formentera, and the collaboration with the Consell Insular in the Compra a Casa program, to support the supply of retail businesses in Formentera.
The shipping company, which appreciates the trust of its customers and the work of the professionals who have participated in its activities, has also supported minority sports and various environmental actions.
After 25 years, Formentera Lines asserts that it is “an integral part of the island” and a company “made from and for the island, not just registered on it.”
