Fire on the Roll-on/Roll-off Ship “Galicia” at the Entrance of the Vigo Estuary

The roll-on/roll-off ship “Galicia” (IMO 9268409), part of the Suardíaz fleet and registered in Portugal, suffered a fire in an auxiliary engine last Tuesday, October 29, while maneuvering in the Vigo estuary, coming from Zeebrugge, and lost control. Two tugboats based in the aforementioned Galician port went to its aid, and it was docked that same night. The extent of the damage it may have suffered is unknown, reports fleetmon.com.
