The ferry “Martín i Soler” on the Almería-Nador route during the OPE
Balearia has withdrawn the ferry “Martín i Soler” from the Balearic Islands, which this week has joined the Almería-Nador route, where it will remain until September 15. This is a reinforcement for the 2019 OPE, where it will operate alongside the ferry “Dura Bridge”, a lower-tier ship, allowing for two to three daily connections. This implies a 50% increase in the number of available seats and it is the first time that Balearia has deployed two ships on this route.
During the OPE, Balearia will allocate ten ships (eight ferries and two high-speed vessels), nearly a third of its fleet, to the six routes it operates between North Africa and the peninsula, both national and international (Ceuta, Melilla, Tangier, Nador, and Mostaganem). During peak periods, it is expected that there will be up to thirty daily connections on these routes.
