The ferry “Albayzin” becomes part of Trasmediterránea
The ferry “Albayzin” has become part of the Trasmediterránea fleet since last week, when the change of ownership and flag took place in the port of Cádiz. Leased from Moby Lines since 2010, it now flies the flag of Cyprus and will do so until the second registry in the Canary Islands becomes more attractive. It is owned by Transmed Shipping, has a community crew, and key positions are held by Trasmediterránea personnel.
Since October 2010, this vessel has been covering the Cádiz-Canary Islands route, except in 2013 when it was in the Balearic Islands. The company's management will invest money to improve the living conditions of the ferry “Albayzin,” in order to make it more attractive for passengers, in addition to other technical actions. In the next dry docking, a comprehensive work plan will be undertaken, along with repainting it to coincide with the company's centenary rebranding.
