The Magic of Disney World Arrives at the Port of Cartagena
For the first time at the port of Cartagena and assisted by pilot Antonio Larios, the presence of the tourist cruise "Disney Dream", a showcase of the fantasy world of Disney brought aboard a themed ship that has achieved notable success. This has been the great novelty of the day, along with the occasional arrival, lasting just over an hour, of the tourist cruise "Mein Schiff 2", which remained in front of the Algameca dock for a medical emergency, on its journey from Malaga to Barcelona, the same origin and destination as the "Disney Dream" ship.
Owned by Disney Cruises and managed by Magical Cruise Co. Ltd., it is the 687th construction from the Meyer Papenburg shipyard (Germany) and entered service in January 2011. Weighing 129,690 gross tons, it measures 339.80 m in overall length, 37 m in beam, and 8.32 m in draft. It is powered by a diesel-electric system that allows it to maintain a speed of 22 knots. It has a capacity for 2,500 passengers and 1,458 crew members. IMO Code 9434254.
