Dismantling of the Catamaran “Pinar del Río” Begins
Balearia has appointed the company Varadero Vinaròs to handle the dismantling of the catamaran “Pinar del Río”, which has been stranded since August 16 at the entrance of the port of Denia and partially destroyed after the recent storm. A dozen workers have been engaged in the dismantling work since Monday, which is expected to last two weeks, reports the digital outlet valenciaplaza.com.
While Ardentia Marine is responsible for the underwater tasks, Varadero Vinaròs, based in Castellón, is taking care of dismantling the dead work, cutting the aluminum sheets of the superstructure for subsequent recycling. The Maritime Captaincy has authorized the "in situ" work.
