Crystal Cruises Has Future Plans for the Iconic Ocean Liner 'United States'
Crystal Cruises, a company based in Los Angeles, has expressed its interest in reviving the historic ocean liner 'United States' and putting it back into service as a luxury ship with a capacity for 800 passengers. This icon of global navigation has been docked for nearly two decades at the port of Philadelphia and has come close to being scrapped on several occasions.
According to reports from the American press, Crystal Cruises has signed an option to purchase and has a very ambitious plan for this vessel, with an estimated investment between 700 and 800 million dollars. For now, during the nine-month feasibility study, Crystal Cruises will pay the 60,000 dollars per month required for port fees and other expenses.
