The cruise ship "Costa Serena" arrives in Japan to accommodate 5,000 athletes for the Asian Games
The cruise ship "Costa Serena" (IMO 9343132) has arrived at the Japanese port of Nagoya to serve as temporary accommodation for 5,000 athletes of the Asian Games, which will run until October 4.
Due to the lack of a sports village to host all participants, the organization has turned to various accommodation solutions.
The cruise ship "Costa Serena", flagged in Italy, will become a floating hotel for 16 days. The vessel, which arrived at the port of Nagoya last Monday, September 14, is already operational to accommodate the athletes. Its captain, Federico Sias, has highlighted that the cruise will also serve as a meeting point for athletes and guests from different Asian countries.
According to various Asian media reports, Costa Cruises will earn around 28 million dollars for the charter of the cruise ship "Costa Serena" during the Asian Games.
