Costa Cruises Bets on the Canary Islands as a Key Destination for Its Winter Cruises
Costa Cruises is already preparing for its next 2026/2027 season with the Canary Islands as a key destination. The company aims to focus on areas with warm temperatures during the winter, as well as cities that offer a wide cultural and scenic offer.
The main novelty of the 26/27 program will be the debut of the mega cruise ship "Costa Smeralda" in the Canary Islands, with itineraries designed to explore the archipelago and Madeira. The company seeks to promote winter cruises as an alternative for traveling more peacefully and enjoying the destinations without the usual summer crowds.
The mega cruise ship "Costa Smeralda" will operate 8-day routes through the Canary Islands and Madeira, with stops at some of the main destinations in the archipelago. The itinerary will allow travelers to experience the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote, the beaches and dunes of Fuerteventura, the nature of Tenerife with Teide as the highlight, and the contrasts of Gran Canaria, in addition to including a stop in Madeira.
One of the standout features of the route will be the overnight stop in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which will allow passengers to enjoy the city beyond the usual excursion hours, with time to stroll, dine, and experience local life.
In addition to the Canary Islands, Costa Cruises will continue to strengthen its offerings in the Mediterranean for the upcoming season. The mega cruise ship "Costa Pacifica" will offer weekly routes with stops in cities such as Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Naples, Palermo, and Rome, as well as including destinations in North Africa like Tunisia. Some routes will also stop in Málaga and Tangier. Meanwhile, the mega cruise ship "Costa Toscana" will cover destinations in Italy, France, and Spain, including a stop in Palma de Mallorca.
