The Civil Guard intercepts a vessel dedicated to the irregular transport of people to the shores of Murcia
The Maritime Service of the Civil Guard has intercepted a powerful vessel allegedly used by traffickers for the irregular transport of people to the shores of Murcia. The vessel, equipped with four outboard motors, was intercepted this Monday about 12 miles from Monte Cenizas. The operation has so far resulted in the detention of its two skippers.
The Government Delegate in the Community of Murcia, Francisco Lucas Ayala, has shared images of the vessel under the custody of the agents.
From Contigo Cartagena, “we believe that this action once again demonstrates that when the bodies responsible for monitoring and protecting our maritime border have the necessary means, they are capable of acting against the mafias dedicated to human trafficking and drug trafficking,” it highlights in a statement.
It adds that “we continue to demand something we consider fundamental: Cartagena, as Spain's maritime border, must have the necessary services and resources to face this reality.”
